Here are some class papers, which I wrote for courses I have taken in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program at Georgetown University:

·         A paper about conflicts between forces of globalization and sovereignty, focused on multinational corporations and medium-sized developing countries and building on work by Tom Friedman.

·         A paper about the late 19th century novel The Awakening by Kate Chopin

·         A paper about the political activities of Buddhist monks in Burma (Myanmar) and whether or not it’s appropriate in light of Buddhism’s general orientation to transcending the cares of life, rather than confronting them.

·         A note reviewing some of the literature on the determinants of earnings inequality in the USA

·         A short essay on ethics as depicted in Homer’s Odyssey and in contemporary society.

And here is a link back to my genealogy of the Bergsman/Bergmann/Bergsmann family.
